God / Allah Redefined
Throughout this article the word God is used to mean Allah, Buda, and all other deities.
It is also presumed that God is not a who or a what. There is no word in the English language to accurately describe God so, although we can talk about the concept of God, we can never really pinpoint a simple and concise definition.
God is everywhere. God is everything. God is in and all around us. We are all part of God… from the tiniest atom to the largest solar system and all living and non-living things in between... we are all connected. That is why many religions refer to us as "brothers & sisters" or brethren or children of God.
God knows everything and has complete understanding of the universe and all that is in it. As part of God, we can all share this cosmic consciousness if we so choose. We can communicate with God and with each other and the universe by taping into this higher consciousness using the right side of our brain. The right side of the human brain is the access key to all psychic experience.
As a crude example: We can tap into the Internet and literally pull a world of information out of thin air. So too, using our right brain, we can access the divine consciousness of which we all are a part. Just as in using the internet, some people are more skilled than others in using their right brain to access this shared consciousness. But like any skill, anyone can learn to use this key to access the higher realm. However, few try.
We (as part of God) make decisions and choices before we are born concerning the who, what, where, when, and why of our existence. We all have a specific reason for coming into the flesh. This reason is etched into our very core. The only way we can be truly happy is to follow our own compass. We bring with us all the tools we need to do our chosen work through our various skills, talents and abilities. The only other requirements we need to reach our lifelong goals are: 1) we must be alive and 2) we must be free to pursue our dreams.
Our reasons for existence can never be negative because that would undermine the very nature of God. Our purpose in life must be in harmony with nature, the world around us and the universe. For instance, murder might be compared to sticking a needle in your eye. Since we are all part of God, why would we/God ever want to harm self in that way? Reason dictates that if we are to fulfill our destiny, we must be alive to do so. Since the parts of the whole (us) do not fully understand the big picture (God) we dare not make life and death decisions for others.
This brings us to the question of the "Holy War" and its use by terrorists. The term itself is an oxymoron. There is no such thing as a "Holy" War. For Holy suggests that it is sanctioned by God -- but God is not destructive. God is the very essence of life... ever evolving in a positive direction. War on the other hand, is the most negative of all negatives... one of the most destructive forces in existence. To suggest that God would wish to destroy self by destroying thousands of innocent people is illogical.
Free will can ultimately be used for good or evil. War usually consists of an oppressor and an oppressed. The oppressor is always evil and using free will destructively to impose their will upon others. The oppressor threatens the three basic components of our existence: life, liberty, and the pursuit of individual happiness or following ones true path. The oppressed has a right to defend self. But care must be taken not to overdue self defense at the risk of becoming an oppressor.
Consider the immune system fighting a cancer. The cancer uses the bodies blood supply to feed itself and grow. The white killer cells in the blood try to protect the body by destroying the cancer cells. A war ensues. If the cancer wins, the body will die. But if the killer cells win and then continue destroying normal innocent cells once the cancer is conquered, the body will also die. The killer cells have the potential to become a far more destructive force than the original cancer they were originally trying to prevent. So of utmost importance is to know when to stop defending oneself.
Any child that attends a public school knows the concept of bullying. It's when one or more children try to impose their will on others for personal gain. This gain may simply be perceived power. A single child may be no match for a band of bullies and may have no choice but to give up his or her freedom to obey these oppressors. War takes the immature act of bullying to the next level (the country level) where those bullied revolt in self-defense. Self defense is justified as long as it doesn't become oppressive. Once the oppressed can live freely and no longer be coerced into living their lives by the rules of another, the war should end.
Let's revisit the cancer war being fought by our immune system discussed previously. We have little control over this war, even though it takes place in our own body. So God has little control over war because it is a result of bad choices and the abuse of free will. History has shown that some of the most heinous crimes have occurred using the name of God erroneously. These atrocities are not only not sanctioned by but do a great deal of harm to the ultimate we call God. That is why some religions outwardly state to, "Do unto others as you would have done unto you." That is because you are literally doing to yourself as we are all connected by the cosmic (God) consciousness.
It takes more than one person to wage a war. It takes many people acting as one. War could not exist if people truly respected themselves and each other as individual "children of God." Any rational human being who peers into their own soul, will realize how irrational the Holy War is and why it should never be resurrected. While everyone has a right to protect themselves, no one has the right to kill and maim innocents. That is not self defense. That oppressive darkness bestows no benefit on the oppressor, except for perhaps a morbid sense of satisfaction.
True happiness is the final destiny of all human beings. It's what we all seek. But happiness cannot be achieved through destruction or momentary blips of satisfaction. True happiness can only be achieved by accomplishing the task for which we were born. We must be free to walk our own path. Any government, religion, cult, society, individual or organization that curtails that freedom should be abandoned and shunned. For it's people who make up these organizations. It's people who give them power. And it's people who can take that power away... in the name of God.
